The figure:
A ship with two sails mounted on a mahogany bottom.
It is an illustration of a solid foundation where courses, setting the sails and propulsion plays a crucial roll in success.
The colors:
Red and orange is choosen as symbol lifeblood and lucidity.
The small sail symbolizes Vejle Udviklingsråd: The orange color on the surface illustrates practical and constructive advice from the competent partner.
The red background color illustrates the lifeblood behind Vejle Udviklingsråd.
The big sail symbolizesthe Entrepreneur: The red color on the surface illustrates the lifeblood that any entrepreneur puts into their company. The orange background color illustrates the corporate vision.
The color compination for each sail represents the qualities that is important for the cooperation between Vejle Udviklingsråd and the Entrepreneur.
The color in The glass sailor changes according to the light in which the sculpture is placed as a symbol of the adaptability of the Entrepreneur.
The pattern:
The crackled glass gives an organic shape with many small "islands" that can be seen as independent spots and as connected surface.
Over time the spots will come together in a beautiful mosaic.
The islands illustrates the many small projects the Entrepreneur has and the connected surface shows the company as a whole.
The form:
Illustrates ruggedness - the ship bottom made of mahogany illustrates a solid foundation that can float and find balance even in troubled waters - where the two sail in cooperation must be able to ride off any storm which at times can be necessary for the momentum.
